47. Customer FAQ

FAQ-001: What is makeo?

makeo is the agentic AI workspace for business: one AI tool for your entire workday. It understands email, conversations, calendar, tasks, knowledge and connected tools — and can take action across them. It helps organize inboxes, draft replies in your voice, use company knowledge, and handle multi-step work with human review when needed.

FAQ-002: Is makeo just a chatbot?

No. makeo includes chat features, but it is broader than a chatbot or a single-channel inbox tool. It is designed so one instruction can drive work across email, social, calendar, tasks, knowledge and connected tools.

FAQ-003: What can makeo do for my email?

makeo can read mail, organize it, classify it, prepare reply drafts, use your signature, help with attachments where supported, and keep actions connected to your real mailbox.

FAQ-003A: Where do I open my mailbox?

Open Conversation → Email. Mailbox tools (folders/categorization, writing style, signature) are in Workspace → Email. Mail and social connections open from Workspace at /workspace (nav rail Workspace, or makeo Agent → Settings → Connect). AI (automation and knowledge) opens from Workspace → Preferences. Account (subscription, add-ons, Data privacy, and permanently removing the account) opens from Workspace → Account.

FAQ-003B: What is Password Vault?

When enabled, Workspace → Vault (after iMessage is connected) stores website logins makeo may use for authorised browser tasks (including over iMessage). Add name, login URL, username, and password only. When makeo creates a website account for you, that login is saved here too, with the email and password, so it can be used again. Passwords are encrypted. For each login, choose whether makeo may use it automatically or must ask first. Open a login to edit or delete it. Payment cards are not stored. The same page shows Personal info — the phone on your connected chat (read-only), and named addresses you can add or edit (for example Home, Work, Partner, Parents, or Cottage). You can save several addresses there, or tell makeo a place in chat and it appears under Personal info. makeo may use those addresses on tasks you have allowed.

From iMessage you can text /vault (or “mine logins”, “åbn vault”, “password vault”). makeo replies with a list of saved login names/hosts (never passwords) and a short-lived makeo.io/v/… link that opens the vault page after a one-time sign-in.

When you ask for a saved login — one makeo created or one you added, for example “send me the Rema 1000 login” — makeo texts the email, the password, and that site’s own link, so you can sign in yourself. Payment cards are never texted.

FAQ-003D: What is Wallet?

Workspace → Wallet gives you a personal virtual payment card in euro for online purchases. It is being rolled out gradually, so not every account sees it yet. It is available to people living in the EU/EEA.

FAQ-003C: Can makeo log into sites that email a login link or code?

Yes, when you have asked makeo to do a task that needs that site login. For magic-link sites (for example Wolt), makeo may reuse a saved login, or ask you to open the site in your browser, sign in, and paste the login link into the chat without opening it. SMS codes can be pasted as digits only. Login is not approval to buy — makeo shows the cart and waits for a separate yes. If the bank needs an extra check, you finish on a private link yourself. makeo does not ask you to type a website password in the chat. When you ask for a saved login, it can text that email, password, and the site’s own link.

FAQ-004: Does makeo send from my own email account?

Yes, where supported. makeo is designed to send from the connected account, not from a random makeo address.

FAQ-005: Can makeo write like me?

Yes. makeo can learn from your writing style and use your tone, structure, phrasing, and signature patterns to prepare drafts that sound more like you.

FAQ-006: Can I edit AI drafts before sending?

Yes. You can review and edit drafts before sending. makeo is an assistant, not a replacement for your judgment.

FAQ-007: Can makeo automatically create drafts?

Yes. Turn on Auto drafts on the Dashboard or under makeo Agent → AI (same setting per mailbox). makeo then prepares AI reply drafts only when a message needs a written reply — not merely because it is labeled Action needed or another folder. It never auto-sends. In makeo Agent chat, Draft reply on an open email uses the same rule.

FAQ-008: Can makeo automatically send replies?

No. makeo prepares AI reply drafts for you to review and send. Automatic sending of email replies is not available.

FAQ-009: Which email providers are supported?

makeo can support Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365, iCloud, and IMAP-based accounts. Connect them from Workspace at /workspace (on a phone, Settings → Connect opens that page). The same page also lists Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Slack, LinkedIn, Aula, and iMessage when those are available on the account.

FAQ-009B: What is Workspace?

Workspace is the signed-in page at /workspace for connecting or disconnecting the accounts makeo can use. The left menu also opens Preferences, Knowledge, Email, and Account. After iMessage is connected it also opens Vault and Invite a friend, and Contact shows your makeo email. Log out is in makeo Agent Settings. Close (X) returns to the signed-in app. On a phone, Settings → Connect opens Workspace.

FAQ-009C: Can I choose my own makeo email address?

Yes, after iMessage is connected. On Workspace → Contact, choose Change next to Email, type a name, and save. The address is name@makeo.io. Use 3–20 letters and numbers, and start with a letter. While you type, makeo tells you if that name is already taken. A taken name, or a name makeo keeps for itself, cannot be saved. Mail to the name you are using reaches you in makeo. A name you replace stays on your account and still receives mail. The generated address you started with also still receives mail. You do not log into the address.

FAQ-009A: Does IMAP support Calendar?

No. Calendar requires a Google, Outlook / Microsoft 365, or iCloud mailbox. IMAP is mail-only — Calendar stays unavailable in the sidebar and makeo Agent until a supported provider is connected.

FAQ-010A: Can I connect an account by telling makeo?

Yes. In makeo Agent, "connect Gmail" (or Outlook, iCloud, IMAP, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Slack, LinkedIn, Aula) opens that provider's connect flow. Over iMessage the same command sends a makeo.io link that opens that provider so you can connect. Ask to open Workspace ("åbn workspace", "mine forbindelser", "tilføj en konto") to get a link to the page where you can see and add accounts yourself. A plan that does not include the provider gets a short text instead of the link.

FAQ-010: Can I connect multiple inboxes?

Yes. Text Makeo and Starter include 1 mailbox, Growth 2, and Pro 3. Mailbox count follows the plan. There is no add-on shop for extra mailboxes.

FAQ-011: What is the difference between Starter, Growth, and Pro?

Text makeo is free and is the first option on the public pricing page: iMessage, SMS, WhatsApp, browser, and Mac app, plus 1 mailbox. Starter: 1 mailbox plus Knowledge Hub, Tasks, WhatsApp, and manual drafts. Growth: 2 mailboxes, everything in Starter, plus Messenger, Instagram, LinkedIn, Slack, and auto drafts. Pro: 3 mailboxes, everything in Growth, plus TikTok and comment automation. Paid prices follow the current Starter / Growth / Pro list prices with monthly or annual discount. Paid packages include the Light email/calendar/AI draft base and a 7-day free trial.

FAQ-012: What does makeo cost?

Text makeo stays free. Paid self-serve signup is Starter, Growth, or Pro per user per month (or annual). Current base prices and discounts are set in billing settings and shown in checkout. To get more modules or mailboxes, switch to a larger package. Confirm the final amount in checkout.

FAQ-013: Is there a free trial?

Yes. makeo typically offers a 7-day free trial. The exact trial terms shown during signup and billing are the ones that apply.

FAQ-013A: How do referral rewards work during trial?

If you are on a paid trial with a card on file, open Share & earn from the trial banner in the sidebar, or Workspace → Invite a friend after iMessage is connected. Share your personal link — when someone signs up with a work email, you can earn 7 extra trial days per successful referral.

FAQ-014: Can I cancel?

The product copy indicates that paid plans can be cancelled. Customers should use the billing portal or current billing flow for exact subscription handling.

FAQ-015: What happens if my subscription expires?

Some features can be locked, including email features, AI replies, auto-organization, and automatic drafts. Reactivating a plan can restore access.

FAQ-017: Can I change setup later?

Yes. You can adjust categories, AI Configuration, signatures, Settings, and knowledge sources later.

FAQ-018: What is Email Categorization?

Email Categorization is the feature that lets makeo sort incoming mail into useful categories and decide whether messages stay in the inbox or move to folders or labels.

FAQ-019: Can I choose how categories behave?

Yes. Under Workspace → Email → Folders, choose inbox, folder, or off for each category type (Action required, Money, Business, Notifications, Marketing & updates). To-do mail is grouped under Action needed. Receipts and orders under Invoice/Payments. Event invitations under Bookings in Business. Comments, form submissions, tool alerts, and account-security mail under Notifications. Promotions and cold outreach under Marketing. Phishing / look-alike senders are controlled separately under Folders → Automation as Phishing detection — when it is on, those messages move to Alert.

FAQ-019A: Can I create custom mail rules in makeo Agent?

Yes. In makeo Agent you can create persistent mailbox rules (skip organize, always move to a folder, always create a task, or block a sender). Type /rules to list or delete them, or just say it in ordinary language. Rules run before normal AI categorization. You can also create/rename/delete folders, find mail from a sender, and bulk-move messages.

Receipts: ask for receipts/invoices and makeo keeps paid receipt-style mail only (not payment-failed or renewal noise). Download receipts saves matching attachments as a ZIP, or you can ask makeo to email the ZIP after you confirm send.

Focused mail / social / comments: Summarize gives a short grounded summary on mail. Social and comments default to Reply; switch to Ask to talk to the agent. Draft reply / Improve prepare AI text that never auto-sends — use Edit / Send when ready.

Multi-step plans: combine several actions in one message (find receipts, create a task, book a meeting, send mail). makeo confirms writes/sends with a short checklist, then runs the plan after you say yes.

FAQ-019A2: Does makeo search the web by itself?

Yes. makeo Agent decides on its own when to search the web for current/public facts, and when to look in your mailbox, calendar, tasks, Knowledge Hub, or social threads instead. Short questions stay fast; harder ones get more careful reasoning. There is no Search/Think button to flip.

Knowledge is still a button in the composer, because it means something different: it forces a full search of your uploaded documents and saved websites even when makeo would otherwise treat the message as general chat. Desktop See (share another app window) is also unchanged.

Answers stream in as they are written, word by word, instead of appearing all at once when finished — again like other modern AI assistants. Before the first words arrive you see typing dots, and a status line only when makeo is doing real work (for example “Searching the web…”); it disappears as soon as the answer starts painting. Filler steps such as “Reading your request…” or “Figuring out what you need…” are not shown. Questions that need a web lookup or careful reasoning take a few seconds longer to begin, because makeo searches and thinks first.

While it searches, the status line shows the actual search terms makeo used, one round at a time (for example “Searching the web: Microsoft 365 Business Standard price DKK…”, then “Reading the search results…”). These are reported by the model itself as it works, not guesses — so a question that triggers three rounds of searching shows all three. The search terms follow the language of your question. Until the first real search or the first words of the answer arrive, a question that needs reasoning shows “Thinking it through…”; quick chat shows only the typing dots.

FAQ-019A3: Can makeo look things up in my own mail and messages while it answers?

Yes. Ask makeo / makeo Agent can search your own workspace by itself, mid-answer, and keep digging until it has what it needs. It can search every connected mailbox (unless you name one), open a single mail conversation to read the full history, follow a parcel from the tracking number in that mail, search your social inboxes (LinkedIn, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp) across every channel at once, open one social conversation to read the recent messages, and list the comments on your own posts that you have not answered yet.

This matters for questions a single lookup cannot answer. makeo can search, look at what came back, and then search again with better words or open the specific conversation it found — for example “what did Werner last write on LinkedIn, and what did we agree?” (find the thread, then read it), or “has anyone got back to me about a collaboration — check both my mail and my messages?” (search both, then read the promising threads). The same person often writes in more than one place, and makeo now checks across channels instead of only where you happen to be.

These lookups are read-only. Sending mail, replying to a message, posting a comment, or changing your calendar still goes through the normal confirmation step — makeo never sends anything on its own because it looked something up.

The status line names each lookup as it happens, in your language: “Searching your mailbox: receipts…”, “Searching your messages: Werner…”, “Reading the conversation…”, “Reading the comments on your posts…”. Answers that need several lookups take a few seconds longer to start, and then still stream in word by word. If makeo finds nothing, it says so plainly rather than guessing — it only reports senders, amounts, and dates that actually appear in your data. Ordinary questions (“what is the difference between gross and net salary?”) do not trigger any workspace lookup at all.

What it can reach depends on what you have connected: mail lookups need a connected mailbox, and social lookups need the relevant channel connected in makeo Agent → Connect.

FAQ-019B: Can I set reminders by voice on the desktop app?

Yes. In dictate Command mode (or when you say “mind mig …” / “remind me …” / “sæt en reminder…” / “påmindelse” / “timer”, or natural lines like “jeg skal ringe til mor i morgen kl. 15”), makeo creates a hybrid reminder: it is saved to your account, appears in Brief (full canvas and mini dock) with a live countdown, shows a native notification + sound when due, and can send Web Push / inbox when the app is closed. The Brief bell shows a badge count for due reminders. After a reminder fires it stays in Brief until you dismiss it with the check action (it is not auto-removed).

Calendar vs reminder: Spoken calendar create/move/update/cancel (e.g. “flyt mit møde…”, “opdater aftalen…”, “lav et kalender-event…”) is routed to Ask makeo so it patches the existing calendar event — it does not create a separate local reminder. Explicit reminder cues (“mind mig”, “påmindelse”, “remind me”) still use the reminder path.

You can also ask makeo in chat (“mind mig i morgen kl. 9”). Short countdowns under about two hours may use the local timer instead. Phrases like “hey makeo” / “hej makeo” are not kept as part of the reminder text. Settings → Voice → Quick send (on by default) sends Ask turns automatically after voice into makeo; reminders still create immediately. Settings → Voice → Noise suppression is off by default. Default Dictation mode stays close to what you said; Email/Chat modes apply more cleanup. Voice records until you stop, then inserts the transcript. If you fix a misheard name before sending, makeo can remember it in personal vocabulary. Long voice input is kept until you stop (safety cap ~15 minutes). Reminders are always on.

FAQ-019B2: What shows up in makeo Agent Brief?

Brief shows your personal reminders only — with live countdowns and a badge when something is due. It does not list mail, calendar, social threads, or tasks. Those stay on the Mail, Social, Calendar, and Tasks tabs (mini dock and dedicated workspace views). An empty Brief (“No reminders right now.”) is normal.

FAQ-019B2A: Can I choose which mini dock tabs are shown?

Yes. In makeo Agent, open Settings → Appearance → Mini dock tabs and toggle Chat, Brief, Mail, Social, Comments, Calendar, and Tasks. Hidden tabs leave the mini rail; at least one tab must stay on. The choice is saved on the device.

FAQ-019B2A2: Does the mini panel close when I click outside it?

By default no (Stay open) — close it with the active rail tab or Escape. Turn on Settings → General → Close on click outside if you want a click outside the mini dock to close the open panel. In the macOS desktop app, that also closes the panel when you click into another app. With Stay open, the panel stays visible when you work elsewhere; click the dock or a rail tab again to make makeo the active window. The choice is saved on the device.

FAQ-019B2B: How do I switch dark / light mode for the app?

One preference for the whole logged-in app: open makeo Agent → Settings → General and use Dark mode / Light mode. That updates the workspace shell (sidebar, pages) and the agent canvas / mini UI together. The choice is saved on the device. Marketing pages and signup keep their own look.

FAQ-019C: What is voice conversation on the desktop app?

Voice conversation (hold ⇧⌥ / Shift+Option) is a voice-first Ask makeo loop. Spoken replies are currently English. The mini chat panel stays closed (HUD only). Separate from push-to-talk dictate (⌃⌥ / ⌥⌘) and Command-mode reminders/See.

FAQ-019D: Can I talk to makeo over iMessage or SMS?

Yes (see section 32.1). In makeo Agent → Connect, choose iMessage, scan the QR, and send the prefilled message. After that you can text makeo exactly like the chat in the app. Emails and replies are still only sent after you confirm with "send". Paying, sending mail, logins, and Password Vault need iMessage or the app — not SMS or RCS. Reply afbryd to disconnect. STOP also disconnects; scan a new QR to connect again. If you do not see the row, iMessage is not enabled on your account.

FAQ-019E: Can makeo read my Aula?

Yes, when the app language is Danish (see section 32.2). Connect → Aula → UniLogin or MitID, then finish the connection in makeo. makeo can read messages, schedule, week plan and homework, posts, documents, and your children. It does not send Aula messages or change posts. Over iMessage you can answer invitations and report sickness or leave when you name the child and the time range. Extraordinary leave still needs school approval.

FAQ-019F: Can makeo find a free table or hairdresser time and book it for me?

Yes, over iMessage in beta (see section 32.1). Ask for the place and time; makeo checks the place’s online booking page and only books after you confirm. It never pays or enters card details. If the site needs a human check, card guarantee, or login, makeo sends the booking link so you can finish yourself.

FAQ-019G: Can makeo remind me by text message?

Yes, over iMessage in beta (see section 32.1). Ask for a reminder or timer; makeo texts you in the same chat when it is time. Cancel by text. App reminders still use Brief and push. makeo cannot send messages or emails to other people at a later time.

FAQ-019G2: Does makeo remember things I tell it over iMessage?

Yes, in beta (see section 32.1). Every reply also reads your recent texting thread with makeo in order — roughly the last hundred messages, including lines you typed to makeo in the app — so “that one”, “the link you sent” or advice from earlier in the chat is understood without repeating it. Lasting facts you mention — who people are, where home, work, or school is, and everyday preferences — are kept and used in later chats, so you are not asked again. Plans you are working on with makeo now — a trip, a city, a restaurant — stay in that thread and are kept while the plan is open. “Near home” works without sharing your location once home is known. “Yesterday”, “last month” and “like last time” use that memory. If more than one person or moment could fit, makeo asks which one you mean. A changed fact replaces what makeo uses, and the earlier version stays in the background. A habit is used after you have done the same thing three times. If makeo knows a pickup time but not how long before you want the reminder, it asks once. Ask “what do you know about me?” to hear it, say “forget …” to remove one thing, or just state the new fact to replace it. Passwords and card details are never kept. The memory is deleted with your account.

FAQ-019G3: Can makeo shop at one specific store, or check that a product really is fragrance-free?

Yes. Name the shop (“… from Matas”) and makeo searches only there; if that shop has nothing matching, it tells you first and shows the best picks from other local shops instead. The share page shows how many products actually fit — one, two, or three — and stays with the requirements you stated (fragrance-free stays fragrance-free). Those requirements are read on the product page itself before a product is shown — products the page contradicts, sold-out items, and the wrong kind of product are left out. When the page does not state a requirement, makeo says so rather than presenting it as confirmed. You buy from the shop yourself; makeo never pays.

FAQ-019H: Can makeo follow an offer until the customer replies?

Yes. Open the offer email and ask makeo to follow it until the customer replies or you stop it. You can also give an end date (“follow it until Friday”) and say what you are waiting for. makeo does not write to the customer. It checks the thread, sends a few short status notes if they have not replied, and tells you when they do. You can extend or stop the follow-up by text.

FAQ-019I: Can makeo tell me when an email from a specific sender arrives?

Yes, over iMessage in beta (see section 32.1). Say “tell me when an email from Skat arrives” and makeo texts you with the sender and subject when it lands. Its confirmation says whether that is the next email only or every email for 30 days; say “just the next one” or “every time” to change it. A name, an email address, or a domain works. A watch lasts 30 days and needs a connected mailbox. Ask “which do I have?” to see them, or “stop mail from Skat” to end one. They are also listed on the iMessage card in the app, where you can stop them.

FAQ-019J: Can I approve something with a reaction in iMessage?

Yes. React 👍, ❤️ or ‼️ to the exact question makeo asked to say yes, or 👎 to say no. For paying and sending mail, a loose “ok” is not enough: say the action, reply to the question, or say yes while it is still makeo’s latest message. Payments and sending mail are never approved over SMS or RCS.

FAQ-019K: Can I stop makeo while it is working on something?

Yes. Text “stop” to cancel, or “status” to hear how far it has come. Anything else you text while it works is handled right after, and makeo tells you once that it is still busy.

FAQ-020: What is AI Configuration?

AI Configuration lets you adjust how makeo writes, including tone, length, personality, emoji behavior, instructions, and phrases to avoid.

FAQ-021: Can different inboxes have different writing styles?

Yes. Each connected mailbox can have its own settings, style, and signature behavior.

FAQ-022: What is Email Signature?

Email Signature lets you create a signature that can be added automatically to replies and drafts.

FAQ-023: Can I use a logo in my signature?

Yes. Signatures can include logo, image, contact details, links, and custom text where supported.

FAQ-024: What is Knowledge Hub?

Knowledge Hub is where you add documents, connect cloud sources, save website knowledge, and choose which sources each channel may use — so makeo can answer with better information. Structured pricing (Rates, Packages, Sources, Quotes) is temporarily hidden from the app UI.

FAQ-024A: What are Workspace Agreements?

Temporarily unavailable in the app UI (Sep 2026). Public quote links for already-sent agreements still work.

Agreements turn your Knowledge Hub pricing and branding into sendable quote documents. Create a draft (blank, AI, or with uploaded files), send a secure link to the customer, track Draft → Pending → Approved/Denied, see when the link was viewed, and chat with the customer on the quote page. When enabled, find it under Workspace → Agreements in the sidebar.

FAQ-025: What should I upload to Knowledge Hub?

Useful documents include price lists, product guides, manuals, service descriptions, FAQs, support scripts, brochures, standard procedures, Markdown knowledge bases, spreadsheets, structured JSON/XML data, and HTML exports.

Customers can also connect Google Drive, OneDrive, or SharePoint and import selected files from those sources instead of uploading them manually.

FAQ-026: Does AI use all documents every time?

No. makeo should use only the knowledge that is relevant to the current email, chat, or customer question. Customers choose which documents each channel may use under makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge.

FAQ-027: Can makeo answer questions about prices?

Yes, if prices are available in plan settings, uploaded documents, saved website knowledge, or the current conversation. It should not invent prices.

FAQ-028: What happens if a price is missing?

makeo should ask for the missing detail or use a placeholder such as [price] instead of inventing a number.

FAQ-030: What is AI auto-reply?

AI auto-reply means makeo can answer automatically in a conversation when enabled.

FAQ-031: What is human takeover?

Human takeover means a person takes control of the conversation and AI stops replying automatically in that thread. Visitors can request it in any language on Messenger and Instagram; makeo pauses AI for that conversation only until AI is resumed or a team member replies manually.

FAQ-035: What is Growth Hub?

Growth Hub (sidebar Leads) shows Messenger and Instagram conversations and captured leads so you can follow up with potential customers. Note (Sep 2026): temporarily hidden from the app UI and sales.

FAQ-036: Can makeo capture leads?

Yes. If visitors share contact information through Messenger or Instagram Direct, makeo can save and display those leads in Growth Hub.

FAQ-037: Does makeo support Messenger?

Messenger can be supported as part of omnichannel workflows depending on plan, connection, and activation.

FAQ-038: Does makeo support Instagram Direct?

Instagram Direct can be supported as part of omnichannel workflows depending on plan, connection, and activation.

FAQ-039: Does makeo support Slack?

Slack can be connected where available. Current omnichannel plan descriptions should focus on Messenger and Instagram Direct.

FAQ-040: What is Z: Alert?

Z: Alert is makeo's safety layer for suspicious senders, phishing attempts, scam patterns, and look-alike domains.

FAQ-041: Is makeo safe?

makeo is designed with secure handling of connected accounts and customer data in mind. For legal or privacy details, customers should review the current privacy policy and terms.

FAQ-042: Can multiple people share one account?

No. One license is intended for one person. Sharing an account can mix writing styles, privacy, and account ownership signals.

FAQ-042A: Can I invite someone only to work on Email Tasks?

Yes. makeo supports limited Email Tasks access. A collaborator can be invited to work on assigned email tasks, read the saved mail snapshot, and add internal comments without receiving access to the full inbox, billing, settings, or other makeo modules.

FAQ-042B: Does a limited Email Tasks user need a paid Stripe subscription?

No. A limited Email Tasks user does not need to choose a paid plan or complete Stripe checkout just to work on assigned tasks. Paid makeo plans apply to full workspace users and account owners. Limited task users are intended for restricted collaboration.

FAQ-042C: What can a limited Email Tasks user see?

A limited Email Tasks user can see assigned tasks, the related saved mail snapshot, task status, deadline information, assignees, and internal comments for tasks they are allowed to access. They should not see the owner's full inbox or unrelated makeo areas.

FAQ-042D: Can task access be revoked?

Yes. Owners or permitted users can remove or revoke limited Email Tasks access. Once revoked, the collaborator should no longer be able to access the assigned workspace task data that depended on that grant.

FAQ-042E: Can Email Tasks have deadlines?

Yes. Email Tasks can have deadline presets such as ASAP, 24 hours, or 2 to 7 days. makeo stores the selected preset and the calculated due date, then sorts and labels tasks so urgent or overdue work is easier to find.

FAQ-042F: Do Email Tasks sync to Google Tasks or Microsoft To Do?

For connected mailboxes with task permissions, makeo automatically creates a matching provider task for new Email Tasks and keeps title, deadline, priority, and done/open status updated from makeo. Internal comments, assigned makeo teammates, task sharing access, and the saved mail snapshot remain makeo-only.

FAQ-042G: Can I share one Email Task with an external customer without giving them makeo access?

Yes. Open the task in Email Tasks and use Share with guest → Copy link or Send link. The guest opens the secure link without logging in, sees the task summary and saved mail preview, and can comment in Messages. Your private team comments stay in the workspace. This is different from Team access, which requires the collaborator to sign in for assigned tasks inside Email Tasks.

If the connected mailbox does not yet have task permission, the user should reconnect the mailbox. The makeo task remains available even if external task sync is pending or fails.

FAQ-043: Can makeo write in multiple languages?

Yes. makeo can understand and draft in multiple languages and should reply in the language of the main message.

FAQ-044: Can AI read attachments?

makeo can use attachment context where supported, such as documents, screenshots, images, or files relevant to a conversation.

FAQ-045: Can I use makeo without replacing my mailbox?

Yes. makeo connects to existing mailboxes and can work as an AI layer on top of the tools you already use.

FAQ-046: What is an omni channel?

An omni channel is a customer communication channel beyond email, such as Messenger or Instagram depending on plan and activation.

FAQ-047: What is Business best for?

Business is best for customers with multiple inboxes and a need to use documents, price lists, and company knowledge in replies.

FAQ-048: What is Omni Pro best for?

Omni Pro is best for teams that want makeo across many inboxes and multiple customer channels.

FAQ-049: Can makeo help customer support?

Yes. makeo can help classify support messages, find relevant knowledge, and draft clear customer replies.

FAQ-050: Can makeo help sales?

Yes. makeo can help follow up with leads, answer product questions, use price material, and keep conversations moving.

FAQ-051: Can makeo help with invoices and finance mail?

Yes. makeo can categorize finance-related mail and draft careful replies, but it should not invent amounts, dates, or payment terms.

FAQ-052: Can makeo help with meetings?

Yes. makeo can identify scheduling and meeting-related messages and draft clear coordination replies.

FAQ-053: Why does an AI reply sometimes sound wrong?

It may not have enough writing history, instructions, or source material. Improve the result by adjusting AI Configuration, adding documents, and reviewing drafts before sending.

FAQ-054: What is visual intelligence?

Visual intelligence means makeo can understand visual information such as images, screenshots, or document content where supported.

FAQ-055: What is ownership verification?

Ownership verification helps confirm that a connected mailbox belongs to the person using it, reducing misuse and account sharing.

FAQ-056: Can I remove a connected mailbox?

Yes. Connected mailboxes can typically be removed from Settings.

FAQ-057: What happens when I change my signature?

Future drafts and replies can use the updated signature where automatic signature is enabled.

FAQ-058: What happens when I upload new documents?

makeo can use the new documents as future context when they are relevant to a message or question.

FAQ-059: Can makeo help with standard replies?

Yes. makeo can use instructions, documents, and company knowledge to produce more consistent replies.

FAQ-060: Can makeo be used for personal and professional mail?

Yes, but each inbox should have its own style, signature, and category setup.

FAQ-061: Why should I configure categories?

Categories tell makeo how you want your inbox organized. Some customers want mail moved into folders, while others want it kept in the inbox with labels.

FAQ-062: Can makeo prioritize my inbox?

Yes. makeo can help surface messages that need action and separate them from newsletters, notifications, and low-priority mail.

FAQ-063: How does makeo know whether an email needs a reply?

It looks for signals such as questions, requests, confirmations, scheduling, customer issues, or direct asks. It also recognizes many messages that usually do not need replies, such as pure notifications or thanks-only emails.

FAQ-064: What if makeo files a message incorrectly?

The customer can correct it manually and adjust category settings. Occasional manual correction is normal for any intelligent inbox system.

FAQ-065: Does makeo use keywords only?

No. makeo uses AI understanding plus safety rules. It looks at intent, sender type, subject, body, and context.

FAQ-066: What is correspondence classification?

It is a background step that helps makeo understand the business situation behind a message, such as support, quote, logistics, complaint, or finance. It improves draft tone and structure.

FAQ-067: Is correspondence classification the same as inbox categorization?

No. Inbox categorization organizes mail. Correspondence classification helps write a better reply.

FAQ-068: Why does makeo use placeholders like [price]?

Placeholders are used when a specific fact is needed but not confirmed in the message or connected knowledge. This prevents AI from inventing numbers.

FAQ-069: Can makeo answer legal questions?

makeo can help draft careful replies about legal topics if context is provided, but it should not be treated as legal advice.

FAQ-070: Can makeo answer financial questions?

makeo can help organize and draft finance-related messages, but the customer should verify amounts, dates, and commitments.

FAQ-071: Does makeo always search externally before answering?

No. makeo can answer quickly from conversation and saved context when enough information is available. It can use deeper verification when the question requires current or source-backed facts.

FAQ-072: When should makeo verify externally?

Verification is helpful for current pricing, policies, legal claims, product documentation, competitor comparisons, public contact details, and source-backed research.

FAQ-073: Why does makeo sometimes ask a follow-up question?

If the information needed for a safe answer is missing, asking a follow-up is better than guessing.

FAQ-074: What if no writing style profile exists yet?

makeo uses a clear, warm, professional default until it has enough style context.

FAQ-075: Can makeo handle complaints?

Yes. For complaints, makeo should lead with empathy, acknowledge the issue, and propose a clear next step.

FAQ-076: Can makeo handle quote requests?

Yes. makeo can draft quote replies with structure around scope, assumptions, price basis, validity, and next step. It should not invent prices.

FAQ-077: Can makeo handle logistics messages?

Yes. makeo can help with delivery, freight, tracking, and missing information, using only confirmed tracking or ETA details.

FAQ-078: Can makeo handle technical support?

Yes. makeo can draft troubleshooting replies that confirm the symptom, suggest simple checks, and propose the next diagnostic step.

FAQ-079: Can makeo handle partnerships or PR?

Yes. It can draft partnership, press, or networking replies with a factual and strategic tone.

FAQ-080: Can makeo help me sound less robotic?

Yes. Voice matching, writing style settings, and custom instructions help makeo write more naturally. AI drafts also never use em or en dashes (— / –), which are a typical sign of AI text.

FAQ-081: Does makeo add my signature twice?

It should avoid duplicate signatures. The draft body is usually generated without a closing signature because the signature feature can add it separately.

FAQ-082: Can makeo summarize a thread?

makeo can help understand and summarize thread context where supported, especially when preparing replies.

FAQ-083: Can makeo answer using my website?

Yes, if website knowledge is saved or connected. It can use relevant website information as customer-owned context.

FAQ-084: Can makeo answer using documents?

Yes. Uploaded documents can be searched and used when relevant.

FAQ-085: Does makeo always use my documents?

No. It should use documents only when they help answer the current message.

FAQ-086: What if a document is outdated?

The customer should update or remove outdated documents. AI answers are only as reliable as the connected knowledge.

FAQ-087: Can makeo be used as the main mail client?

Yes. Customers can use makeo to read, reply, forward, compose, organize, and work with connected mailboxes.

FAQ-088: Can I still use Gmail or Outlook?

Yes. makeo is designed to work with existing mailboxes, not force customers to abandon their usual tools.

FAQ-089: Why are provider differences important?

Different email providers support labels, folders, drafts, attachments, and sync differently. makeo works within the provider's capabilities.

FAQ-090: What should I do if a draft is too long?

Adjust reply length in AI Configuration or edit the draft manually.

FAQ-091: What should I do if a draft is too formal?

Adjust tone, personality traits, creative mode, and custom instructions in AI Configuration.

FAQ-092: What should I do if a draft uses the wrong language?

Review the thread and adjust the draft. makeo is designed to reply in the language of the main message, but mixed-language threads can sometimes be difficult.

FAQ-093: Can makeo draft new emails, not only replies?

Yes. New compose (a new email to someone) works from makeo Agent chat without the Auto drafts gate. Reply drafts on an open email require Auto drafts On and a requires-reply assessment (written reply needed) — same as automatic drafts. Folder labels alone do not unlock reply drafts.

FAQ-094: Can makeo forward emails?

Yes. Forwarding is part of the email workspace where supported. In makeo Agent, focused mail has a Forward control in the focus dock that opens the forward compose panel inside the dock (you stay in the agent). Summarize in that panel uses the same mail-thread summary pipeline as the agent Summarize chip, and writes the result into the forward message body (not the chat). The To field suggests the same mail contacts and teammates as Ask makeo's person picker while you type.

FAQ-095: Can makeo work with attachments?

Yes, attachments can be part of the email workflow where supported by the provider and file type.

FAQ-096: Can makeo move messages to spam or trash?

Yes, where the email provider and permissions allow it. In makeo Agent you can also delete mail, drafts, tasks, and social conversations from their lists (with confirm). LinkedIn deletes remove the chat on LinkedIn too; Messenger/Instagram deletes remove the thread from makeo only.

FAQ-097: Can makeo mark messages as read?

Yes, where supported.

FAQ-098: Can makeo process existing inbox mail?

Yes. Organize now under makeo Agent → AI → Automation runs a one-time batch (50, 100, or All) on the active mailbox. It does not turn Email Auto organize on. Only categories the customer has enabled are filed.

FAQ-099: What is the safest way to start?

Leave Email Auto organize off, turn on only the folder types you want under Knowledge → Folders, then run Organize now on a small batch. Turn Email Auto organize on after the result looks right.

FAQ-100: Can makeo help reduce inbox overload?

Yes. Its organizer, categories, reply-needed detection, and AI drafts are designed to reduce manual inbox work.

FAQ-101: What if AI is unavailable?

makeo can use fallback behavior in some areas, such as safer defaults for organization or alternative generation paths. The exact experience depends on the feature and setup.

FAQ-102: Does makeo guarantee perfect answers?

No. makeo is an assistant. It improves speed and consistency, but important messages should be reviewed by a human.

FAQ-103: How does makeo avoid hallucinations?

It is instructed to use thread context, saved knowledge, documents, and website information where available, and to avoid inventing missing facts.

FAQ-104: Why does makeo sometimes use a short reply?

If the latest message is simple, or if the user already replied and only needs a follow-up, a short reply is often better than repeating a long answer.

FAQ-105: Can makeo help with internal coordination?

Yes. It can draft concise replies about status, owners, deadlines, dependencies, and next steps.

FAQ-106: Can makeo help with supplier communication?

Yes. It can draft replies about purchase orders, delivery details, supplier requests, and missing information.

FAQ-107: Can makeo help with newsletters?

makeo can categorize newsletters so they do not distract from messages that require action.

FAQ-108: Can makeo identify promotional emails?

Yes. It can categorize promotions and marketing messages where signals are clear.

FAQ-109: Can makeo protect important system alerts?

makeo uses safety logic to avoid burying important account, tool, or security alerts as generic low-priority mail when strong signals are present.

FAQ-114: Can I delete conversations?

Yes. Conversations and irrelevant leads can be deleted where the product provides that action. On Conversation → LinkedIn, Delete removes the chat on LinkedIn and in makeo; chats you delete on LinkedIn disappear from makeo on the next refresh if needed.

FAQ-115: Can I see lead contact details?

Yes, Growth Hub can show captured contact information when a visitor provides it.

FAQ-117: Does makeo replace customer support staff?

No. It helps support staff answer faster and handle repetitive work. Human takeover remains important for complex or sensitive conversations.

FAQ-118: Does makeo replace sales staff?

No. It helps with lead follow-up, answers, and consistency, but humans still manage relationships and decisions.

FAQ-119: What makes makeo different from a generic AI tool?

makeo connects to real communication workflows, real mailboxes, writing style, inbox organization, messaging channels, and customer-owned knowledge. It is built around actual customer conversations, not only standalone prompts.

FAQ-120: What is the best way to get value quickly?

Connect an inbox, enable sensible categories, configure writing style and signature, and upload the documents customers most often ask about.

FAQ-121: How does makeo analyze my writing style?

makeo looks at sent emails from the selected mailbox, removes signatures, footers, quoted threads, and boilerplate, and analyzes only the message body you actually wrote. It balances short, medium, and longer samples (and skips near-duplicates / ultra-short acks), runs a quirk pass for recurring habits, then creates a 12-point writing style profile that helps future drafts sound like you — including subtle documented quirks when they appear consistently in your mail.

FAQ-122: What are the 12 points in the writing style analysis?

The profile covers personality archetype, audience adaptation, distinctive phrases, syntax and rhythm, human quirks, language mixing, message structure, punctuation habits, humor level, action patterns, phrases to avoid, and formatting rules for future AI-generated drafts.

FAQ-123: Does makeo copy my old emails?

No. The goal is not to reuse old email content. The goal is to understand how you write, such as tone, rhythm, structure, and wording patterns, so new drafts feel natural.

FAQ-124: What happens if I do not have enough sent emails?

makeo uses a neutral default style profile. You can analyze again later after sending more mail, or edit the style profile manually.

FAQ-125: Can I edit the writing style profile myself?

Yes. You can edit the profile directly in AI Configuration. This is useful if you want to correct the analysis or guide makeo toward a specific brand voice.

FAQ-126: What can I customize in AI Configuration?

You can choose a reply fine-tuning preset (Normal, Improved, or Custom). Custom unlocks creative personality, enhanced mode, reply length, emoji style, personality traits, values, extra instructions, things to avoid, selected documents, saved sites, and other context sources.

FAQ-127: Can each mailbox have its own AI logic?

Yes. Each connected mailbox can have its own writing style, categories, signature, sources, and automation behavior. A Gmail inbox can behave differently from an Outlook inbox.

FAQ-128: Why would Gmail and Outlook have different makeo behavior?

Different accounts often represent different roles. One inbox might be personal, another might be sales, and another might be support. makeo lets each account have its own tone, rules, and knowledge setup.

FAQ-129: How do I connect Messenger?

Where enabled, use Facebook under Connect. You authorize the relevant Facebook Page, grant messaging permissions, and makeo can then use that page for Messenger in Unified Inbox.

FAQ-130: What does connecting Facebook & Instagram enable?

Connecting Messenger and/or Instagram enables makeo to list connected accounts, sync conversations, show live threads, send replies where enabled, and use a selected AI persona for messaging assistance. Each channel is connected with its own button.

FAQ-131: Can makeo connect Instagram Direct?

Yes, where enabled. Use Instagram under Connect in the top bar (or makeo Agent Settings → Connect). Instagram has its own login from Facebook Messenger.

FAQ-131A: Why is there no profile picture on Instagram conversations?

Meta does not expose profile pictures for Instagram DM participants. makeo therefore shows the initial of the sender's name on Instagram conversations, while Messenger conversations do show the Facebook profile picture. The Instagram username and display name are still looked up so the conversation can be identified.

FAQ-134: What information can a lead include?

A lead can include name, email, phone number, company, message, conversation history, and other visitor context where available.

FAQ-136: How large can uploaded documents be?

Each uploaded document can be up to 100 MB.

FAQ-137: How many files can I upload at once?

You can upload up to 10 files at a time.

FAQ-138: Which document file types are supported?

Supported high-priority formats include PDF, DOCX, DOC, ODT, XLSX, XLS, ODS, CSV, TSV, TXT, MD, Markdown, JSON, XML, HTML, HTM, and RTF.

FAQ-139: Can I connect Google Drive, OneDrive, or SharePoint?

Yes. makeo Cloud Drive can connect Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Microsoft SharePoint so customers can import selected files or folders into Knowledge Hub.

FAQ-140: Does makeo read my whole cloud drive?

makeo should only use the cloud sources the customer connects and selects for import or sync. Imported cloud files are shown in the document library and can be selected as AI context like uploaded files.

FAQ-141: What happens when a cloud file changes?

makeo can re-sync the imported document from the original Google Drive, OneDrive, or SharePoint source. The imported copy is updated in document search and future AI context.

FAQ-142: What happens if I disconnect a cloud source?

Disconnecting a cloud source stops future sync and removes the stored provider connection. Depending on product settings, already imported document copies may remain in Knowledge Hub or be removed by the customer.

FAQ-143: How do I choose which documents AI may use?

Open makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge, pick a channel, and toggle individual documents under Draft context. On Mail you can also turn Documents off entirely in context sources.

FAQ-144: Can each mailbox use different documents?

Yes. Each mailbox can have its own draft context via AI settings. For example, a support inbox can use manuals while a sales inbox uses product sheets and price lists.

FAQ-145: What are saved sites?

Saved sites are website pages or website profiles that makeo is allowed to use as trusted context when drafting replies and answering questions in makeo Agent.

FAQ-146: How do I choose which saved sites AI may use?

Open makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge, pick a channel, and toggle individual websites under Draft context. On Mail you can also turn Websites off entirely in context sources.

FAQ-147: How many website pages can makeo discover?

makeo can discover thousands of internal pages from a site, with a practical safety limit so huge catalogs stay manageable. When you add a URL, the site appears in Saved sites immediately; discovery and indexing continue in the background.

FAQ-148: How does website discovery work?

makeo follows the site’s sitemap when available, or explores linked pages on the same site if needed. Pages on other domains are not added.

FAQ-149: Does makeo use every website page in every answer?

No. makeo searches saved site context and selects the pages that look relevant to the current email or chat question. This keeps answers focused and faster.

FAQ-149A: What is the official makeo website URL?

The official site is https://makeo.io. Older domains such as makemoore.com or makemore.dk may redirect there. Public marketing content is English.

FAQ-150: Can I save both a main website and specific pages?

Yes. You can save a main company website and also save specific pages such as pricing, help center, product pages, documentation, or terms.

FAQ-151: What are Emails processed?

Emails processed is no longer shown as a separate dashboard metric. makeo only counts completed work: emails that were actually organized and drafts that were generated.

FAQ-152: What are Drafts created?

Drafts created is the number of AI drafts makeo has generated for the customer — email auto-drafts, Social AI draft, Comments AI draft, and agent Draft reply / Improve (mail and social). Saved time for those drafts is based on the draft’s word count at 40 WPM typing speed. Saved also includes voice dictation (mic / ⌃⌥ / ⌥⌘): the gap between typing and speaking the same words (40 vs ~135 WPM).

FAQ-153: What are Emails organized?

Emails organized is the number of emails makeo has moved, labeled, or organized according to the customer's category rules.

FAQ-154: How is Time saved calculated?

Time saved is an estimate. The current logic can estimate around 30 seconds per organized email and around 180 seconds per AI-generated draft.

FAQ-155: What is the difference between Organize 20, 50, 100, and All emails?

These are one-time batch actions in organizer flows. They process up to 20, 50, 100, or all inbox messages, usually newest first, and apply the customer's organization rules. The same 50, 100, and All scopes can be started from the Organize menu in the Email toolbar (where available), or from Organize now under Workspace → Preferences or makeo Agent → AI → Automation (under Email Auto organize). Starting a run from AI opens the Email view, where the run executes and progress is shown. Saying "organize 25" or "organize all" in makeo Agent or iMessage starts the same kind of run with that count.

FAQ-156: Does batch organize turn on Auto organize?

No. Batch organize is a one-time run. Auto organize is a separate setting for new incoming mail.

FAQ-157: Can I create my own email signature in makeo?

Yes. You can create and edit your own email signature in makeo using the signature editor.

FAQ-158: Can makeo add my signature automatically?

Yes. When the signature is active, it can be added automatically to replies, forwards, and AI-generated drafts. Sending a draft from makeo Agent also appends the active signature if it is not already on the draft.

FAQ-159: Can each mailbox have its own signature?

Yes. Signatures are managed per connected account, so a Gmail inbox and an Outlook inbox can use different signatures.

FAQ-160: Can I use a professional signature template?

Yes. makeo includes a professional template with logo, contact information, and live preview.

FAQ-161: Can I upload a logo for my signature?

Yes. You can upload a JPG or PNG logo for the signature template. The logo can be up to 5 MB.

FAQ-162: Can I import an existing HTML signature?

Yes. You can paste an existing HTML signature into makeo. This is useful if you already have a signature from Gmail, Outlook, or a signature generator.

FAQ-163: Will makeo preserve an HTML signature?

makeo can store the pasted HTML signature and show it in the preview area so you can confirm it before saving.

FAQ-164: Why does the AI draft not write "Best regards" or my name?

makeo usually keeps the AI-generated body separate from the signature. This prevents duplicate sign-offs because the saved signature can be added automatically.

FAQ-165: Can I publish and schedule social posts from makeo Agent?

Yes. Open Post in makeo Agent to draft, schedule, or publish to connected Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and/or LinkedIn accounts. Attach media, optionally use AI caption, then publish or schedule. Posts live under Publish only. Deleting a published post also removes it on LinkedIn and Facebook when possible; Instagram/TikTok posts are cleared in makeo after you delete them on those platforms. Post Comments (and optional Comments AI draft) are available next to Social.
