7. Sign In, Account Creation, And Getting Started

Customers can sign in and create an account using supported authentication options.

Typical sign-in options:

Typical first steps:

  1. Create an account.
  2. Choose a plan or start a trial.
  3. Connect an email account from agent settings (Connect opens first after payment or leaving plan selection). Defaults apply automatically.
  4. Let makeo organize the inbox and prepare drafts.
  5. Adjust writing style, categories, signature, and knowledge sources as needed.

New users do not need to confirm their email address before getting started. After signup, makeo can send a welcome email and the user can continue directly into plan selection and inbox connection.

7.1 Waitlist

When waitlist mode is on, visitors can join with Google, Outlook, Facebook, or email. Joining saves a waitlist lead — it does not create a full workspace until access is opened. After joining, they see a confirmation screen. Trying the same sign-in method again while still waitlisted returns them to confirmation rather than an error. If someone verifies a mobile number while waitlist mode is on and open spots are full, makeo also saves their spot on the waitlist (same waiting list as email and social join) instead of creating a full account until access opens.

7.2 Magic Signup Links

When the recipient opens a magic signup link, they first see a confirmation screen (Create my account) where they can review and edit their email and name before continuing. makeo only creates the account after the visitor confirms. After confirmation, makeo sets up a Business trial workspace, sends the welcome email, and signs them in to start setup.

Users can also sign in without a password from the login modal via Email me a login link. makeo sends a one-click sign-in email that opens makeo and signs them in.

On desktop / wide screens, Signin vs Agent chooses where you land after login: the workspace or makeo Agent. On phones and narrow screens, sign-in opens makeo Agent.

9. Connecting Channels

Messenger, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Slack, Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, IMAP, and LinkedIn connect under Connect in the top bar or makeo Agent → Settings → Connect.

After a chat channel is connected, conversations sync into the live inbox (including available history). New messages appear automatically; deletes and edits on the native apps are reflected in makeo — no manual Sync. Instagram Direct needs its own Instagram connection (Messenger alone is not enough). Message requests can appear a short time after connect.

TikTok DMs require a TikTok Business account; makeo can reply to existing conversations (TikTok does not allow starting new DMs via API). Personal accounts and accounts whose TikTok sign-up region is in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland cannot use DMs through makeo. TikTok DM features are unavailable in those regions.

WhatsApp connects a WhatsApp Business number (personal WhatsApp cannot be connected). One number per makeo profile. Conversations appear under Conversation → WhatsApp and update live. Free-form replies only work inside WhatsApp’s 24-hour customer-care window. Hiding a thread in makeo stops it from coming back via sync.

Slack installs the makeo Slack app into a workspace; pick one Slack channel per connected account. The inbox receives DMs to the bot, @mentions, and thread replies the bot is part of — not ordinary channel chatter. Open Conversation → Slack for the live view.

Publish / schedule: Open Post in makeo Agent to draft, schedule, or publish to connected Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and/or LinkedIn accounts. Attach media, optionally use AI caption, then Publish or Schedule.

Social lists connected conversations. Needs reply (on by default) hides threads where you already sent the last message. Social AI draft (per platform under AI → Automation) prepares reply drafts — never auto-sends.

Comments lists comments on your LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram posts. Comments AI draft can auto-like and prepare reply drafts when a written answer is warranted — never auto-sends.

Messenger shows Facebook profile photos; Instagram Direct shows name initials when Meta does not provide a photo. Each Facebook connection uses one Page (Change page under Connect when several are available). Plan connection limits still apply; Omni Pro includes unlimited connections.

Gmail supports mail, labels, search, drafts, and calendar. If Smart Inbox has moved mail into category labels, Inbox can look empty — open the category folder to see those messages. After LinkedIn is connected, Conversation → LinkedIn shows DMs live; deletes on LinkedIn are reflected in makeo.

When a mailbox is connected, makeo applies defaults automatically: categories off, reply fine-tuning Improved, signature off, Email Auto organize off, reply drafts on (drafts are only created when mail is organized). Customers change those anytime under Workspace → Email (Folders, Draft, Signature) and AI → Automation.
