23. Knowledge Hub

Knowledge Hub is makeo's knowledge area.

It gives makeo access to material that helps AI answer more accurately.

Customers can use Knowledge Hub for:

Knowledge Hub is included from Business and above. It is especially important for Business, Omni Pro, and larger customer setups.

Knowledge Hub tools sit in the page toolbar (Pricing is temporarily hidden — see §23.0.1). Click Knowledge for Add website; use the toolbar for:

From makeo Agent, Workspace opens connections, Knowledge, Email settings, Account, Vault, and Preferences. Workspace → Knowledge has Documents, Websites, and MCP. Folders, Draft, and Signature are on Workspace → Email after a mailbox is connected. Choose which sources each channel may use under makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge or Workspace → Preferences → Knowledge. Turning off Documents or Websites hides them for that channel’s AI replies. AI → Automation covers auto-organize and auto-draft toggles.

23.0.1 Structured Service Pricing (temporarily unavailable)

Note (Sep 2026): The Knowledge Hub Pricing tab is temporarily hidden from the app. Saved pricing data is kept, but structured pricing is not used in AI replies while it is unavailable.

When enabled again, customers can maintain rates, packages, pricing-page sources, and quote profiles in Knowledge Hub so makeo can answer pricing questions from their own numbers.

23.0.2 Workspace Agreements (temporarily unavailable)

Note (Sep 2026): Agreements is temporarily hidden from the app. Existing public quote links still work.

When enabled again, Workspace → Agreements lets customers draft branded service quotes from Knowledge Hub pricing, send a secure customer link, track status, and keep the conversation on the quote page.

23.1 Document Upload Limits

Customers can upload documents into the document library.

Current customer-facing upload limits:

Customer-friendly explanation:

"You can upload large business documents into makeo. Each file can be up to 100 MB, and you can upload up to 10 files at a time. Supported formats include PDF, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, OpenDocument files, CSV/TSV, Markdown, plain text, JSON, XML, HTML, and RTF."

23.2 Document Library Search

Uploaded documents are indexed so customers can search their document library.

Customers can:

The purpose is to let makeo answer from real customer material instead of generic AI memory.

23.2.1 Automatic Website Knowledge Import

When a Business or Omni Pro customer has provided a website URL during waitlist or onboarding, makeo can generate a Markdown knowledge base from that website and import it into Knowledge Hub automatically. Customers can also paste a website URL in Knowledge Hub and choose whether to save it as a saved site or create a Markdown document from it.

The generated website knowledge document is treated like a normal uploaded Markdown file. It is stored as an original file, indexed for search, and can be used by AI features according to the customer's document and context settings. When the import completes, makeo can include it in draft context for connected mailboxes according to makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge. If no mailbox is connected yet, the import is queued and enabled automatically when the first mailbox is connected.

The import is triggered automatically when the customer's Business or Omni Pro subscription or 7-day free trial starts after they complete the start flow, not when waitlist access is opened. A customer with eligible plan and active billing can paste a URL in Knowledge Hub and choose Markdown doc to queue a manual Markdown import. If a user has provided a website but has not yet started a subscription or trial, the import remains pending until billing is active.

Customer-friendly explanation:

"If you added your website during signup, makeo can turn it into a searchable knowledge document for you. On Business and Omni Pro, this happens automatically when your subscription or 7-day free trial starts. You can also paste a website URL in Knowledge Hub and choose Markdown doc to create a Markdown knowledge document manually, so the AI understands your services, products, policies, and public business information without you having to prepare the website content yourself."

23.3 Draft Context From Documents

Documents are not only stored; they can also be selected as draft context under makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge.

Customers can choose, per connected channel (Mail, Chat, Messenger, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack):

This means a support inbox can use support manuals, while a sales inbox can use product sheets and pricing documents.

The same documents and saved websites can support email drafts, makeo Agent, and social replies when enabled for that channel under AI → Knowledge. makeo searches and ranks your sources for the question, uses the relevant sections, and skips weak or unrelated hits so simple replies stay clean.

23.4 Document Audience (default)

Uploaded documents default to customer-facing use. Channel enablement and per-document draft selection are managed in makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge, not from the Add document table.

23.5 Practical Document Examples

Useful uploads include:

When a customer asks about something in these materials, makeo can use them to produce more accurate answers.

23.6 makeo Cloud Drive

makeo Cloud Drive lets customers connect external document sources instead of uploading every file manually.

Supported cloud sources:

Cloud Drive uses a hybrid sync model:

Customer-facing explanation:

"You can connect Google Drive, OneDrive, or SharePoint and choose the files makeo may use. makeo imports selected files into Knowledge Hub, indexes them for search, and can re-sync them from the original source when they change."

23.7 Cloud Drive Permissions And Control

Cloud Drive should be explained as customer-controlled and source-limited.

Customers can:

24. How Documents Improve Answers

Documents help makeo answer with facts instead of guesses.

Example:

If a customer asks about prices, makeo can use a connected price list.

If a customer asks about a product feature, makeo can use product documentation.

If a customer asks about a process, makeo can use a manual or internal FAQ.

If a customer asks about support steps, makeo can use a troubleshooting guide.

The AI should only use knowledge that is relevant to the current conversation.

25. Saved Website Knowledge

makeo can use saved websites as first-party knowledge.

Saved website knowledge can help with:

When saved website context is available, makeo should treat it as trusted context for that customer's business.

Retrieval for saved sites uses the same search approach as uploaded documents: makeo finds candidate pages for that user’s indexed sites and ranks them so questions in Danish still match English documentation (and the other way around). Weak matches are discarded so unrelated indexed sites (for example payment-docs noise on a robot-manual question) do not fill the draft.

25.1 Saved Sites

Saved sites are website pages or website profiles the customer has saved for makeo to use as trusted context.

Customers can:

Customer-friendly explanation:

"Saved sites are the web pages makeo is allowed to treat as your own trusted context. You can add as many URLs as you need — your homepage, pages on your own site, or external documentation such as GitBook and Redocly. makeo can use that information when drafting replies and answering questions in makeo Agent."

25.2 Sitemap And Page Discovery

When a customer adds a website, makeo discovers internal pages from sitemaps and links on the same site. Pages on other domains are not added. Discovery and indexing continue in the background after the site is saved, so Knowledge Hub can be closed while it finishes. Only pages on the same host (and under the path you added, when relevant) are included.

Very large sites are capped so discovery stays practical — typically thousands of pages, not an unlimited crawl of the whole internet.

Customer-friendly explanation:

"When you add a website, makeo scans sitemaps and internal links on that site. It can discover thousands of pages and index them for search, with safety limits so huge catalogs stay manageable."

25.3 Saved Sites At Draft Time

Discovery and saved-site storage are different from what is sent into a single AI draft.

makeo does not paste every saved website page into every draft. It searches and selects relevant site context and can fetch live page content when needed.

At draft time, makeo can:

Customer-friendly explanation:

"A website can contain many pages, but makeo only pulls in the pages that look relevant to the current question. This keeps replies faster and reduces the risk of mixing unrelated information into an answer."

25.4 Choosing Saved Sites For Draft Context

Under makeo Agent → AI → Knowledge → Draft context, customers enable the individual saved sites each channel may use. Turning off Websites for Mail or Chat hides site rows from that channel’s draft list.

25.5 Main Website Versus Specific Pages

A customer can save a main website and also save any number of additional URLs. There is no product limit on how many saved sites a customer may add.

Examples:

Each URL is saved separately. External documentation hosts work the same way as pages on the customer's own domain. Saving specific URLs can improve accuracy when customers want makeo to use a particular source for pricing, policies, API docs, or product details.
