35. Privacy And Data
makeo should be described as privacy-conscious and built around the customer's connected accounts and selected knowledge.
Important customer-facing points:
- The customer connects their own accounts.
- A license is intended for one person.
- Account sharing can mix writing styles and ownership signals.
- The customer can remove connected accounts.
- Data deletion options are on Workspace → Account.
- AI should use data to provide the enabled product features.
- Sensitive legal or privacy questions should be answered with reference to the current terms, privacy policy, or makeo support.
- Public pages for Security, Contact, Privacy, Privacy policy, Terms of use, and SMS terms (phone signup/sign-in verification) are on https://makeo.io. Older Danish paths redirect to the English pages. Privacy and data-deletion requests:

Support and billing:we@makeo.io. - Terms of Service (effective June 29, 2026) state that makeo is B2B only — consumer protection laws and statutory cooling-off/withdrawal rights do not apply. Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Disputes are governed by Danish law and settled by simplified arbitration in Copenhagen (English) under the Danish Institute of Arbitration. Customers are solely responsible for AI-generated content compliance, third-party platform rules, and underlying AI provider policies.
- The marketing site shows a cookie banner before optional analytics. The makeo app and desktop product do not use that marketing cookie banner; in-app consent is separate on first login.
- On the macOS desktop app, first launch opens an expanded sign-in window; after sign-in you return to the menu-bar mini dock.
- The Drafts stack in makeo Agent is the take-action queue: mail drafts, social AI drafts, and pending calendar invites for the active mailbox. Open an invite to Accept / Maybe / Decline. Cards can show mailbox labels so you can see where a message sits.
- Desktop voice dictation (macOS): ⌃⌥ pastes into the app you came from; ⌥⌘ inserts into Ask makeo; Fn while focused uses the focused window. Hands-free: ⌃⌥Space. Dictation stays in the spoken language until you stop. Settings → Voice covers paste target, dictate modes, vocabulary, noise suppression, and optional wake word. Voice conversation: hold ⇧⌥ for spoken English replies (FAQ-019C). Mic, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring may be required.
- Mobile browser voice needs HTTPS and microphone permission. Allow once for makeo; the browser remembers it unless you revoke access.
- The macOS desktop app is menu-bar only (tray). Install one copy from the DMG. On Apple Silicon, Rosetta may be needed until a Universal build is available. If macOS blocks the app, right-click → Open.
Avoid making legal guarantees beyond the current policies.
